“My name is Carissa. I am a Certified Social Worker with a Master’s degree from the University of Utah. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I have a focus on working with folks who are struggling to balance their mental health with everyday life.
I have a passion for helping those who have experienced trauma, and/or are suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), depression, anxiety, addictions, survivors of abuse, and those with self-harm compulsion.
As a therapist, it is my intention to guide you through your mental health journey. I believe that you already have the power within you to heal. You simply need a safe space to begin.
I am originally from Los Angeles, California and moved to Utah in 2015. I love animals, especially birds. I have a Goffins Cockatoo, Senegal parrot, and a Mini Bernedoodle. Although I miss the ocean, I do enjoy the mountains here in Utah. “
