“As a therapist I seek to provide and cultivate an environment of openness to allow space for, and honor, the parts we value in ourselves as well as those we reject and avoid. These may have been taught to you or developed by you to adapt and cope with your life; your pain. In order for us to grow and change, we have to allow space for our dysfunctions to be present that we may address and re-structure them to meet our life’s needs in the present, not the needs of our trauma in the past.”
